Podcast from Woodland Hills Church in Minn.

Posted by emac3326 on August 28, 2006

From Robert David Glosup

Here is the rest of my homework (week 2) assignment.  This is a
podcast (http://www.whchurch.org/content/page_317.htm) located on the
website for Woodland Hills Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.  I’m a big fan of
the preacher there (Dr. Greg Boyd).  All of the sermons preached at the
church are available for (free) download on the podcast …

A good example of how podcasts are being used. It’s interesting that David is listening to a podcast from a church in Minnesota that he ordinarily would not have access to, unless the church, or pastor, publish a book or CD, and even then you’d have to know that these existed. How did you find this podcast?

Miranda Blog and How and I Am Going to Monitor

Posted by emac3326 on August 28, 2006

Jeffrey Miranda’s blog is located at panoch.blogspot.com. He, as well as others, have been doing what I need you to do: find a free blog host, create a blog, and then play with it, getting familiar with the tools.

Jeffrey raised a good point in his email to me: How am I going to monitor student blogs? As each blog comes in, I make note of it here, in the class blog, and add the link to the blog roll to the right. I will use the blogroll to visit sites at least once a week, looking at activity. Ideally, I’d like all of you to include RSS feeds on your sites — we can talk about this in class — and I can create a group RSS feed so I can see new posts as they come in. Suffice to say, I want to see at least two or three postings a week.

Effler Suggests Ask A Ninja: Pirates

Posted by emac3326 on August 28, 2006

Mary sent in her podcast as Ask A Ninja, one of my favorites. While not technically a “pod”cast — it is a “vid”cast — it’s still a good example of the differences between podcasts and videocasts. I highly recommend Ask a Ninja — we will see examples in the class — and this episode about Pirates of the Carribean.

Glosup Blog

Posted by emac3326 on August 28, 2006

David Glosup has posted is blog and it’s here. David chose Xanga, so I’m curious as to why he chose it and what he thinks of the social network aspect of it, as opposed to a more traditional blog host.
